Peace park honoring Maui veterans

The Hawaiian Islands Land Trust accepted the donation of a 4.5-acre parcel near densely populated Wailuku, the county
seat of Maui. The property overlooks the sea and will become a peace park honoring Maui veterans.

The project is in collaboration with the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center. A park includes a nature trail, small public parking area, picnic tables, benches and informational signage. Longer-term plans include managing the site for native species and
pollinator habitat.
